For my photo story assignment I intend to take a photography of the same place over a period of time. When I return to Cheltenham I plan to take photographs at the same place every single day, however for my project I will go to more than one area of Cheltenham and capture multiple photographs over a period of time to capture the differences of scenarios in different places. The narrative of my photostory will be to capture the environment through Covid 19 when the lockdown is lifted for the shops to re-open with socially distancing and wearing masks.

From movie the "Smoke" with Harvey Keitel, his character goes out every morning at the same time and takes a photograph from the front of his shop. He then prints the images and stores them in huge photo album where another character flips through these images to see all the different scenarios.
Dutch photographer Albert Dros has captured the exact same spot several times during one year at different times of the day, his photos are the perfect demonstration on how the exact same place can differ over a year as well as showing the beauty anywhere and anytime.
Through doing this project during the Covid 19 pandemic, I will need a plan b incase another lockdown is put in place or being unable to return to Cheltenham to capture photographs for this assignment. For my plan b I intend to take photographs of my dog, Bella by taking her on walking journeys through the farmlands pathways and walking paths where I live in Darlington (North-East). I will also capture my dog in the house and the garden as well as normal day activities such as washing her.

American writer Ambrose Bierce once said “the most affectionate creature in the world is a wet dog" for photographer Sophie Gamand that statement struck a chord “I found that quote and reflected on it”. It served as an anchor for her most celebrated works, Wet Dog a series of portraits capturing dogs at bath time, the New York City based photographer invites viewers to examine the close relationship we share with our canine companions.
Neenad Joseph Arul is a self taught street photographer and digital collage artist born in Mumbai, his photo story called Dog Story. Dogs in India are everywhere, street dogs may be pets or strayed or allowed freedom by their owners. Arul says about the photos "It gave opportunity to explore, think out of the box , improve composition and lose myself in the moment while photographing".
For the environmental portrait part of the assignment I intend to shoot my older brother who is a skateboarder in the skate park in South Park in my hometown Darlington, I want to capture his aesthetic as a skateboarder in a skatepark where he does his tricks and hangs out.
